Hello World!

Welcome to Emily.Empowered.! I’m Emily, obviously, and I am very excited to share with you my very first blog post! I figured I would take the time here to introduce myself and let you get a first-hand glimpse into my crazy little world!

I am a full-time mother, wife, woman, friend, opinionated, loud-mouthed, pain in the ass! I LOVE MY FAMILY MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF! They are the reason I am here today, putting myself out there, and trying to make a difference in this crazy, messed up world. I have the most supportive and loving husband. I sincerely have in him a partner and best friend, and I thank my lucky stars for him every day! He’s also an amazing father to our 6 children!

And I wouldn’t want it any other way!

We have two beautiful, strong, intelligent daughters, and four adventurous, creative, strapping young men. Our oldest daughter, my first, is also married and has a step-daughter, making me a me-maw! After going through so much trauma and struggle and loss in my life, and in our lives together, I can finally say that I have the life that I have always wanted, because of them all.

So why me? What’s the point? I am no one “special” to the world, and I have certainly made my share of mistakes. I am not just another mother looking for a hobby… I mean, I haven’t even published yet, and I know I will always be my biggest critic. With that said, I truly hope to just be the person that makes a mother know she isn’t alone when she is struggling in silence. I am hoping to make a difference to anyone who is struggling, really.

We are all only human after all. There is enough fake and pretend in our world, so I present to you a raw, unadulterated, unpolished, and probably sometimes humiliatingly vulnerable look at my imperfect world, in hopes to inspire others to self-reflect and adjust accordingly. I want to bring awareness to taking accountability for oneself and their own choices/behaviors, etc… I want to help inspire change. I want to show others that you can get kicked in the dick and get back up again, as many times as it takes, because you’re always going to come out that much wiser and experienced. I want to be able to relate to those with similar childhood and life traumas, who do not align with feeling like a victim, but rather a survivor.

I WANT TO HELP SPREAD EMPOWERMENT!

I am here to share bits and pieces of the chaos, the imperfection, the ugly, the dirty, the unkept, the peace, the perfect, the beautiful, and everything in-between. Some of the most impactful moments in my parentless healing has been seeing other struggling humans, baring it all for the world to make a difference. That’s my goal. If my posts, silly videos, funny stories, hard truths, ugly tears, etc… can help one person, it will have been worth it.
